Clarification

The club continues to exist, and looks to go from strength to strength in the future. We reserve the right to take our rightful place among the top ranked Irish clubs, once the Irish Ice Hockey Association has addressed, and dealt with, it’s shortcomings, as pointed out to them in face to face meetings, and in a multitude of communications. We are not alone in voicing these opinions, indeed many clubs share our concerns, we however, are prepared to make greater sacrifices, for what we hope, will be the greater good of the sport in Ireland.
This is not a unique situation, and one needs only to consider the history of the original Dublin Flyers, which existed for more than a decade without a rink in the country, or a league in which to compete. There were also notable examples of teams existing in a similar vacuum, in Northern Ireland some years ago.
We find ourselves in a position that is not of our making, or one that we are happy with, but principled opposition is nothing to be ashamed of either, and we ask for the support and understanding of players, teams, and hockey enthusiasts alike, as we try to bring about a fairer and more equitable IIHL. We accept that some players may wish to continue to play hockey at the highest level available to them, and have no intention of standing in their way, however, this will have to be achieved by negotiation and agreement between all parties involved, the Rams, the players, and prospective new clubs.
We intend to involve ourselves in availing of opportunities to participate in youth hockey development in the immediate future, and invite proposals from any interested parties as to how best this may be achieved, and those who might consider joining us in this, and we would also welcome hockey players of all skill levels to contact us through this website with a view to joining us to restore our club to its proud position.
